What to Expect on Your Hunt

An NC Hunting License Is Required

We do not sell hunting licenses. Please visit the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission's website at ncwildlife.gov to purchase your license online or for a list of participating businesses where you can buy your license.

Arrival & Check-In:
Plan to arrive 15–30 minutes before your scheduled hunt. Our staff will greet you, review safety protocols, and ensure you're ready for the field.

Guided Experience:
We offer self-guided and guided field hunts. Our guided hunts include experienced bird dogs. You'll be matched with one of our seasoned guides, who knows the terrain and will tailor the hunt to your preferences and skill level. We understand your bird dogs are part of your family and part of the hunting memories you will carry home from Honey Hill. Realizing the difference in the age and training of your hunting companion, we ask that you have control of your pup and that it displays no aggression towards people or other animals.

Game Birds:
Field hunts typically include pheasant, quail, or chukar—or a mix, depending on your booking. During the booking process, we will help you determine the best mix of birds based on your budget and the hunting experience you would like to have.

Duration & Group Size:
Most field hunts last 2–4 hours, depending on the number of game birds released and your pace. Whether you're coming solo, with a buddy, or as a small group, we can accommodate your needs. Groups of four or more for a field hunt are charged an additional fee. You will be limited to the time allotted for your morning or afternoon hunt. Our morning hunts are scheduled to begin at 8:00 a.m. and end at 11:30 a.m. The afternoon hunts are scheduled to start at 1:00 p.m. and end at 4:30 p.m. We can make adjustments when you are booking your hunting adventure. Timing adjustments on the day of your hunt are more difficult because of additional bookings.

After the Hunt:
Game cleaning and packaging services are available upon request when booking your hunt or before your hunt begins.

We truly appreciate your business and are committed to making every hunt at Honey Hill Hunting Preserve a memorable, experience you'll never forget.
